Berel Miller
was born in the Russian Polish border region, perhaps in the late
1870s or early 1880s, migrated to London when a relatively young
man, and died in London, England
He
and his wife considered themselves Russian Jews, as distinct from
Polish Jews.
He was a distant
cousin of his wife, Baylah.
Berel Miller was a trader in a London. He primarily made men's
caps and little boy's short pants and sold them in a street stall
in London. He learned just enough English to get by in business.
He
would work sitting cross legged as tailors did, and the medical
condition resulting from being seated in this position for long
hours may have been partly responsible for his demise.
That,
and life.
